6. Write the steps to connect the computer in Local Area Network.

1) Physical Connection:
  • Ensure that your computer is physically connected to the LAN using an Ethernet cable or connected to the appropriate Wi-Fi network.
  • 2) Open Network Settings:
  • Right-click on the network icon in the taskbar and select "Open Network & Internet settings."
  • 3) Access Network Adapter Settings:
  • Click on "Change adapter options" (usually located on the right side of the page).
  • 4) Select the Network Adapter:
  • Right-click on the network adapter you're using (Ethernet or Wi-Fi) and choose "Properties."
  • 5) Enable IPv4:
  • Make sure "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" is enabled and selected. If not, enable it.
  • 6) Configure IP Settings:
  • Select "Use the following IP address."
  • Enter an IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server. These values should be provided by your network administrator or router documentation.
  • 7) Save Settings:
  • Click "OK" to save the changes and close the properties window.
  • 8) Network Discovery and Sharing:
  • Go back to the Network & Internet settings.
  • Click on "Change advanced sharing settings."
  • Ensure that network discovery and file and printer sharing are turned on.
  • 9) Firewall Settings:
  • If you have a firewall enabled, make sure it allows network communication within the LAN.
  • 10)Test Connectivity:
  • Open Command Prompt (cmd) and use the ping command to test connectivity with other devices on the LAN. For example, ping other-computer-name.
  • If the ping is successful, it indicates that your computer is connected to the LAN and can communicate with other devices.
  • 11) Access Shared Resources:
  • If you want to access shared files or resources on other computers within the LAN, ensure that those resources are properly shared and accessible.
