A. Write down the steps of installing Windows Operating System.

General steps for installing the Windows operating system on a computer:

1. Prepare for Installation:

Make sure you have a valid Windows installation disc or USB drive with the version of Windows you want to install. Back up your important data to an external storage device, as the installation process will format your hard drive.

2. Insert Installation Media:

Insert the Windows installation disc into the CD/DVD drive or connect the USB drive to a USB port.

3. Boot from Installation Media:

Restart your computer and enter the BIOS or UEFI settings (usually by pressing a specific key like F2, F12, or Delete during startup). Change the boot order to prioritize the CD/DVD drive or USB drive where your installation media is located.

4. Start Windows Installation:

Save the BIOS/UEFI settings and exit.
Your computer will boot from the installation media, and the Windows setup screen will appear.

5. Choose Language and Region:

Select your preferred language, time, and keyboard input method.

6. Install Now:

Click on the "Install Now" button to begin the installation process.

7. Enter Product Key:

Enter the product key provided with your Windows installation. If you don't have one yet, you can skip this step and enter it later.

8. Accept License Terms:

Read and accept the Microsoft Software License Terms.

9. Choose Installation Type:

Select whether you want to perform an "Upgrade" or a "Custom (advanced)" installation. For a clean installation, choose "Custom (advanced)".

10. Partition and Format:

If you're doing a custom installation, you'll see a list of available hard drive partitions. You can choose to format and delete existing partitions or create new ones to install Windows on.

11. Begin Installation:

Select the partition where you want to install Windows and click "Next."

12. Installation Process:

Windows will start the installation process. Your computer may restart multiple times during this phase.

13. Set Up Windows:

Follow the on-screen prompts to customize your settings, including region, language, time format, keyboard layout, and more.

14. Enter User and Computer Name:

Create a username and password for your Windows account. You can also choose a computer name.

15. Enter Product Key (If Needed):

If you skipped entering the product key earlier, you'll be prompted to enter it now.

16. Choose Settings:

Configure settings such as automatic updates, privacy settings, and network settings.

17. Sign In:

Sign in with your Microsoft account or create a local account if you prefer.

18. Complete Installation:

Windows will finalize your settings and prepare the desktop.

19. Install Drivers and Updates:

After installation, make sure to install necessary drivers for hardware components like graphics, sound, and network adapters. You can do this using the drivers provided by your computer manufacturer.

20. Install Software and Restore Data:

Install your desired software applications and restore your backed-up data.
